Shopping in Leeds

The city of Leeds is becoming nationally known as an ideal shopping destination. Its accessible commercial centre means you will only be a short walk away from designer stores, high-street brands and elegant boutiques.
So, it is not surprising that the ‘Rough Guide to Britain’ has named Leeds the best shopping destination in the UK.

Trinity Leeds is the city’s newest and largest shopping and leisure centre, with more than 120 shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and even a movie theatre! Housed under a giant glass roof, Trinity Leeds is located in the heart of the city, between Briggate and Albion Street. Covering 3 floors and open 7 days a week, you can shop late until 8pm from Monday to Saturday, and then go on to enjoy dinner and a drink in one of its superb bars and restaurants.

Briggate is the main pedestrian high-street in Leeds, where you’ll find fashion powerhouses, such as Zara, Debenhams, House of Fraser and more. From there you can also visit the historic Kirkgate Market. Dating from 1875, it is one of the largest covered markets in Europe and is open 6 days a week.

Shopping in Leeds is not complete without a visit to the beautiful arcades of Victoria Quarter, and, of course, the magnificent Corn Exchange. Here you will find the more refined – and luxurious – side of shopping in Leeds. Victoria Quarter is home to world-famous brands, such as Vivienne Westwood, Luis Vuitton and Karen Millen, whereas the Corn Exchange will transport you to a different era, with its hip and chic independent retailers and shops.

A new and exciting addition the city will be the Victoria Gate shopping mall, due to be opened by the end of October 2016!
